PTA President Accused Of Sex With Teens, Free On Bail
Woman Allegedly Had Sex With Two 16-, 17-Year-Old Boys
LOS ANGELES -- A PTA president charged with having sex with two teenage boys was free on bail Wednesday, police said. Torrance resident Sheryl Jean Graham, 42, a wife and mother of five children, was released from the Torrance jail in lieu of $50,000 bail, said an officer. Graham was booked on eight charges for allegedly having intercourse with and orally copulating with one or both boys, 16 and 17, said Deputy District Attorney Mike Gargiulo. The acts were consensual, he said.
The president of the Torrance Council of PTAs and the Torrance Unified School District's Superintendent both declined to comment about the case. West Side High School football coach Greg Holt who had worked with Graham in a booster club for the team said he was "surprised" and unaware of any allegations against Graham, according to the report. "She's been a supportive parent in that regard and has helped me out on a couple of occasions," said Holt. Another school board member who was acquainted with Graham through the PTA was also stunned. "She's someone who has been very active and responsible and respected member of the community, said Terry Ragins. Graham's lawyer, Michael Friedman, said he was unaware of the charges. "At this point there is nothing to respond to," he told the Daily Breeze newspaper. Torrance police had no comment on the matter.
